Even on my crappy i5 an instance of Pro-Q2 barely registers on the CPU count. Pro-Q2 has a few distinct advantages, the main one being CPU-friendliness. If you're using the Advanced version of O7 you can use the EQ on its own, otherwise you are pretty much tied to using it on the master bus only.

It does variable phase, Baxandall shelves, EQ reference matching and a few other exotic things (phase analysis view, which Pro-Q can't do). If you aren't sure what the difference is between minimum and linear. If Ozone can only do Linear phase, that might explain why I don't like it that much on instruments when I use it. For stereo mixes across the mix bus, you usually want to try and use linear phase EQ. but for most instruments, especially anything with transients, you want to use minimum phase EQ. I haven't played with Ozone enough to see if you can do that or which it Defaults to. the great thing it for me is you can switch between Minimum Phase and Linear Phase and variations in between. I just personally do not like the sound of it whenever I start playing with it.

Thoughts are appreciated and I would love to hear of your experience with both, thanks!I am not a fan of Ozone. Are there any benefits from owning both plugs? Is there anything that Pro-Q can do that I could not achieve with the EQ's on Ozone 7? Should I own both or would it be a waste of time and money? I guess my question is, 'Why should I own Pro-Q, if at all, if I already own Ozone 7 which has good EQs built into the suite, in addition to the fact that I have other eq plugs as well?'. I do, however, occasionally use it while mixing. However, I utilize it more for mastering purposes than anything else, as do most people. I currently own iZotope Ozone 7 and love it. I am interested to hear comparison thoughts on the two.
